In the Global Options->View there is a way to change the view layout by "Alternate
docked window placement".
Unfortunately it has no effect on BufferTabs, because it is always only above (in
case of Location of it is top) the textArea.
In this case if sideway toolbar is opened/closed/resized the tabs are also rearranged.
It would be nice if tabs could use this layout setup and could use the full width
of the editor window (or could set it up in plugin option)

the textarea is not a docked window so it has nothing to do with the "alternate docked
window placement" option. Buffertabs is not a toolbar either. I don't know how to/what you mean by "open a sideway toolbar". I do not understand what this is a feature request for. |

Hi, I know it is neither a docked window nor a toolbar. I wrote that it could use that settings from Global Options->View. >I don't know how to/what you mean by "open a sideway toolbar". Sorry I was incorrect. What I tried to explain is that it could behave like "Search bar" (also Global Options->View) or the tool bar which can occupy the full width of the window no matter if i.e. a window of a plugin docked on the right side is opened or hidden. So the correct sentence: "In this case if left of right side docked plugin is opened/closed/resized the tabs are also rearranged. " I hope now it is clearer. |

I don't see how we can place the buffertabs outside of the editpane, since it is possible
to have split panes each with its own buffertabs. |

Well yes, you are right. I didn't take it into account. Thanks. (but if you see any way please consider it) |
